I have seen some guys on COPS and on the streets in So Cal that have either " Ranger/Special Forces tabs, a SEAL trident, or a Marine Corps seal on their uniforms. Whether it be the full size insignia or a small version, does the CHP allow former Spec Ops Soldiers to wear any of this on their uniform?

Having worked in So Cal....there are some depts that have SWAT emblems that look exactly like SEAL tridents. Some agencies do allow officers to wear a small emblem like a flag, a small military emblem. Its probably not in policy, just that nobody minds. I think youll find the larger the agency, the more strict their uniform policy becomes.

My husband bought a pin that has two flags on it..One being a US pin and the other being a Navy Seal flag..One of his sergeants okayed it, as it had the US flag on it..But it's pretty tiny and doesn't draw a lot of attention..

Sure, you can put whatever you want on your uniform. I have this famous picture of me on mine -
