While their technical title is " Blackwater Security Consulting ", some people deem in necessary to call them Mercenaries or whatever. Would the CHP look at this experience as a minus or would it not really matter as long as you had the Military Service as well?
Here is a list of the jobs and qualifications: http://www.blackwaterusa.com/securityconsulting/secopps.asp
If you look through the basic requirements, you can see that they obviously dont take, for lack of a better word, f*ck-ups.

Im not a backgrounds guy, but I can say this.....Blackwater is a VERY reputable security contractor. In fact, werent they the security for Bremmer in Iraq? They even have their own Aviation section. In fact, several of their employees have been killed right along side of US troops. It may take you background a little longer, but I cant believe it would be a negative. I have a friend who was in the French Foreign Legion prior to becoming an American citizen. Hes a great cop to by the way.
This does not answer your question but when I was in Iraq I had the opportunity to talk to some Blackwater employees and see them out in the field and all I can say is that they are good to go. Great equipment, well trained, good compensation, but high risk.

And highly paid too...
Remember the burned bodies hung on top of the bridge in Iraq? Those were Blackwater boys.
