Are there any former Marines with an opinion as to what was more difficult, Boot Camp or the CHP academy? It will give me a pretty good idea as to what to expect, thanks.

from what i have heard from former marine friends, boot camp is tougher physically, but the academy is all-around more difficult once you lump the studies in.
you're not from san diego, by chance, are you?

Its like trying to compare apples and oranges, and it all depends on the individual. In boot camp there is no real possibility of going home unless your injured or you just quit. Your only real worry is trying to keep the D.I.?s from knowing your name and then using it for there amusement up on the quarter deck. In the end you will make it through, ya sure some of the humps might be rough, or the ten days in the field might me challenging, or the pt could be tough, but in the end its 13 weeks and your out of there.
The academy is a different creature, to start with its twice as long and there is just no way around it by the end you just want out. While pt in the service was hard, in the academy you might say it has more intense supervision. You spend much more time in the classroom in the academy than in boot camp, but your training for a different objective. The academy is like life, the better prepared you are going in the easier its going to be. Do what your told, be where your suppose to be when your support to be there, and learn what your suppose to learn, and you have nothing to worry about.
