Unemployment

I just found out that my job will only last through June 8th now......it was seasonal, but they had planned to keep me on for the summer, and now this. I'm not even sure if I've earned enough to qualify for unemployment, but since most of the seasonal resort workers up here file for it in the off season if they don't have other jobs already lined up I thought I'd look into it. I'm not all that excited about it probably mostly due to ego issues, but in terms of a BI how bad is collecting unemployment going to look? .....and if all goes well and I am given a shot at the academy (hoping for september), how bad would it look to take the two months or so in between (June-Sept.) to just train and work around the house instead of finding a lame summer job (if all of the high school kids up here haven't taken them all....)?

As long as you are entitled to unemployment compensation and do not commit fraud, no problem there... As for a couple months off, that should be fine as well -- take the last break you'll have for a long time.
