I wonder which office he was from..West Valley? I think that's the closest one to that area..My condolences to his family..I did read the comments and same of them made me very mad..What happened to what our moms told us? "If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all.."? Do you think that the CHP will be wearing black bands? Or is that for only in-the-line-of-duty?

I'm sure the word will get around. This was all over the local 5 o'clock news late yesterday afternoon.

We didn't hear about it until this morning on the news...He's off last night and tonight..Working graves, he sleeps all day on his off days and is up at night......Whe he can, he watches the news, but I don't because it's way too depressing down here..Too much death and violence...So, we were out of the loop until this morning at like 4 or 5....And the news broadcasts aren't the most informative..Same thing over and over again without much information other than they crashed, died on impact and that the officer was an off duty CHP..

(AP) AGOURA HILLS, Calif. One of two men killed when a Ferrari Testarossa flipped over and crashed near Agoura Hills was a California Highway Patrol officer, authorities confirmed Wednesday.
The 1993 Ferrari crashed just before 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at 3434 Cornell Road near Muholland Drive.
CHP Officer Derek Midollo, 39, and his passenger, David Bjorklund, in his 30s, died at the scene, CHP Officer Leland Tang said.
"It is a huge, huge loss for us," Tang said of Midollo, an 11-year veteran. "All 100 officers here at the West Valley office are mourning the loss of Officer Midollo."
The mangled silver sports car, which may have been speeding, came to rest on its roof in a corral several yards from the road.
"Dallas" actress Morgan Brittany, who owns the corral, heard the crash.
"I heard it coming. I heard the engine revving high,? Brittany said. "I just braced myself" and hoped there was no one coming the other way.

News ID the Officer this morning. But didn't say if he was the driver or passenger.

"Possible police involvement?" Wow, some writers will say anything! And according to one relpy, I'm a redneck bastard! Lucky me!
There was very little right about that link. My condolences to both families.

I'd happily thank them and take that as a compliment!
The media very rarely gets things right - their job isn't to report the facts, it's to "spin" them in a way that sells papers and gets tv ratings. You can read a few pages of a newspaper or watch a few minutes of a news show and pretty quickly figure out which way their leanings are.
