If the CHP let you choose your own duty weapon, which handgun would you choose and why?

Just curious.

If I was a Chippee or any cop, I guess I'd take a GLOCK 18. :cool:

I would choose my Sig P229. It is a sweet .40 cal semi-auto. I have probably put 15-20,000 rounds through it since 1996 and she still shoots like a gem.

Funny that you mention that S&W 500 Mag. I shot one of those for the first time a couple weekends ago. One shot and I was back to my .40 S&W.

To answer the real question, I would probably choose a full size Glock in a .40 cal.

Joking aside, a Glock .40 with tritium night sights or a laser sight would be my choice. They've proven reliable, and are very high-quality guns.
