Sickening!
I'm all for kids teasing and poking fun at each other- it's a part of growing up and dealing with what other's say and coming to know that it is not important.
But, there is most certainly a boundary.
Picking on a student in a remote area whom has come across from another country, as well as throwing items from a vehicle and resulting in suicide is atrocious. These kids should be taken out of society and given an arse whoopin', along with the parents of the accused and the teachers.
Despicable!
"Her tormentors posted vicious comments on the dead girl's Facebook memorial page."
Absolutely ridiculous

IMO, I believe this is a shame. Maybe one day the perps will look back one day and "I cant believe what pain i caused such a young person", I personally dont have any sympathy towards them whatsoever. Even though a few of them are the same age is myself, this is truly despicable and heartbreaking, what a bunch of stuck up jealous pricks and cowards who couldn't help but bully someone because they wanted popularity and to make someone feel down on themselves. They crossed a line, and I pray and hope for what they have done will result in a destroyed life for them. /rant over.
(sorry about the rant and getting riled up, but when i was growing up, especially in Elementary school and Junior High, i was bullied around and insulted because of 9/11 and this type of stuff really ticks me off when it happens to someone else.)

That was a tragic story and as I read it I instantly became angry. It hits close to home because my parents are from Ireland and they told me many stories of struggles/prejudices they had to endure in order for my brothers and I to be raised in the United States.

This is a horrible act which should've never happened, I hope the adults who witnessed and knew about this horrible act of ignorance and cruelty will be punished. This beautiful girl came here with hopes, only to have them taken by her own hand as a result of ignorance by her peers! I am disgusted at what our schools, and youth have become today, granted not all kids turn out bad but this is just pathetic ignorance!
q4star, your quote "May you live as long as you want, and never want as long as you live." those are just amazing words!

Trouble is, all of them probably chalk up such abuse to just "kids being kids" until someone commits suicide or brings a gun to school in order to fight back.

The Irish culture is very rich here and we take pride in it, unfortunately it became just another angle for them to bully her. I blame the parents and the school faculty/staff for letting this get out of hand. Try them as adults and I hope that every single application (school, job, etc..) will be detailed with their crimes.

Pure and unadulterated b***s***. The kids should be jailed for a long time, and the adults should also face a long jail sentence. How about Involuntary Manslaughter for a starting point???

I hope whoever were the one, who push and torminted her, be haunted with that feeling for the rest of their lives. I remember being pick on by a bully in middle school almost everyday, and the teacher knew he was a bully too. Whats funny is that the day that he stop bullying me, was the day that we fought in the locker room. He had the upper hand, but he sure knew i was put up. Most teacher will just go on about their day, and not really do anything, even if they knew....
