My husband told me that every day they did PT, they ran until someone threw up(CTC III-04)...Which was a lovely image for me to conjure when he would tell me about his week's activities on the weekends....
Sorry if this is a dumb question guys!
Are cadets allowed to use the restroom during any type of training? Do any of you have any funny stories in regards to cadets having to go to the restroom during physical training? What happens if you ask to go to the restroom during a 3 mile run? Any in-sight on this topic will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I was just at the Academy for three weeks, and never saw a Cadet out of their company to go to the restroom.
I don't think they are allowed to go. They hold it until after graduation.

I'm not sure how it all works, but I know one of the guys in my husband's company had to use the restroom during one of his classes. He ended up leaving his baton in the bathroom..He made it all the way back to the classroom and realized that he had left it, so he ran back and got it before the staff office found out..This same guy forgot his gun one day and had to use a red rubber one as punishement while everyone else had their real piece..He had a tought time there..He was also constantly at training table and he was one of the littlest guys I saw there..
well punk...do ya feel lucky...well do ya?
You, like many before you, will train your bladder to be at least 1 hour...and I have heard that like many others, you will eventually train your bladder to sustain through a nasty 11-80... I dunno yet.
You are generally given a break every hour to use the restroom. There are a couple times during the six months that we were busy for a few hours at a time, but it wasn't torturous. Don't worry.
There was ONE story relating to the restroom. you see, we normally stored our Cadet ball caps in our wasitbands when we weren't wearing them. It really became a 'habit' and was truly involuntary. So...an unnamed cadet retired to the restroom and presumably stowed his 'cover' in the normal place...however apparently he forgot that he had moments before done the involuntary stow-the-hat move when he removed his trousers...this means the cover...hanging precariously over the bowl...without restraint...found it's new home in the depths of the bowl. So the unknowing cadet, goes about his business and whence complete...find the cover COVERed in ...well...you know. At this point the cadet related that panic set in...and I mean TRUE panic...because you simply cannot CANNOT violate uniform policy and move about in the breezeway without a cover. That is an offense against the Lord himself. So this cadet recovers the cover...attempts to RINSE said cover...and the panic'd his way back to the classroom where he requested assistance in purchasing a new cover...his roommate obliged him and purchased a new cover from the PX...but not after the WHOLE class was made aware of the faux pas...
So it went down in cadet history...
but hey, dont you worry, you are given a chance to use the facilities every hour. That means one chance per hour to do something like this...GOOD LUCK...do ya feel lucky...well do ya?

I have another question regarding the Customs and Courtesies at the academy.
Do the cadets also salute the Staff each time upon contacting, meeting, or passing any staff on the Academy grounds?
Thanks

I believe that you must state good morning sir or ma?am, good afternoon ladies / gentlemen upon passing any person on the academy grounds.

In getting physically ready, I've had several recent episodes where I've run so fast (fast for me, a slow jog for everybody else) that I've almost vomited. Any stories about throwing up during PT out there? I thought that was as embarassing as it could get at the academy until I read Res-Q's post!

I can almost guarentee that cadets vomit during PT. There are alwys going to be those people who do not prepare themselves for the Academy, and can't hang. One good thing is that, from what I understand, PT takes place in the early morning, so you dont have to deal with the Sacramento summer while running the permiter of the Academy. I am sure people will throw up, especially during the first couple of weeks.

Some of my best personal workouts have ended in a nice puke session. Good times.

I think we had two cadets barf during our runs. One particularly memorable moment was when we all stopped on our cadence run to allow the new junior class to pass in front of us. Suddenly I heard the sound of splashing liquid behind me...it was one of my roommates puking. Our PT instructor berated us, and we moved on. He didn't hurl because he was out of shape, but because he had a really bad head cold. All the heavy breathing caused him to gag on his post-nasal drip and vomit. It was pretty funny at the time--now it just sounds kind of gross.
