"Gen. Dula's letter to the University of Washington Student Senate Leader, Jill Edwards.

Jill Edwards is one of the students at the University of Washington who
did not want to honor Medal of Honor winner USMC Colonel Greg Boyington because she does not think those who serve in the U.S. Armed services are good role models. I think that this response is an excellent and thought provoking response."

Thank you for posting this. Very well-written and thought provoking. I'm sure that lots of people (the sheep, here) just don't get it or understand what generations of warriors went through to give us all that we have today.

I have heard this before, as well as the one about our average military soldier. These are very good at hitting home for those who have served and those who protect the "sheep" as he put it. Unfortunately, many of those sheep are ignorant and, much like this young girl from her college, trust their opinion over the hero's life experience. A friend of mine who was with us when we heard this story now "baas" whenever he sees a Sheepish person. It's hysterical to see the expression on their faces when this guys just "baaas" at them and walks on and they have no clue why he just made animal noises at them . It's also good anger management, as it forces us to understand the realty of their incompetence/ignorance. Good stuff!

I notice that Bill Bennett quote from a lecture he gave at the Naval Academy. I'm going to see Bill Bennett at William Jessup University next month.
