State Sen. Roy Ashburn, R-Bakersfield, was arrested early Wednesday on suspicion of drunken driving in Sacramento, a Sacramento County Sheriff's Department official confirmed.
Ashburn was reportedly arrested just before 4 a.m. by California Highway Patrol Officers in Sacramento.

Ashburn represents the 18th Senate District, including Tulare, Kern, Inyo, and San Bernardino counties.
