End of Week 11 of 27 (May 19):
- CTC I-06 lost two Cadets in the past six weeks due to failing EVOC Skidpan training. The class is now down to 54 Cadets (they began with 75 Cadets on March 6).
- The male Cadet Company Commander was "fired" last week and another Cadet from that company was chosen to replace him. The Staff Office can "fire" Company Commanders for many reasons, including lack of leading their Company properly or sufficiently. The former Company Commander was not released from the Academy, but he lost his leadership position. As for the other company, the female Cadet Company Commander stills retains her position.
- Cadets are keeping very busy with PT, PMA, and EVOC. Now, Spanish classes and Weapons Range training has been added to their schedule.
- Cadets average 2-3 exams weekly.
- The top-performing Cadets in Physical Training were selected to perform the "PT Demo" at tomorrow's CTC IV-05 Graduation Ceremony.
RE Some Additional Out-of-Pocket Costs of Attending the Academy:
Cadets have been paying their $75 monthly to their Cadet class fund. Many Cadets purchased polarized sunglasses for EVOC training days. An average pair of polarized sunglasses costs $60. Some Cadets have also bought a second pair of boots to use only at Weapons Range training so they can keep their other pair of boots clean and shined at all times. The cost of proper boots range from $65 to $200. Also, Cadets were recently required to purchase their winter Gortex black jackets for $260.
*** PLEASE NOTE: Approximately 56 Cadets from CTC IV-05 graduate tomorrow on Friday, May 19. Their ceremony is scheduled to start around 0800 at the CHP Academy in West Sacramento, CA.
