Hello everyone. I am new to this forum and am happy to see there is a place to share thoughts and information. I will be going through the testing cycle for the second time. I was wiped out in the background investigation last time for a discrepancy between my QAP, PHS and the truth. My question is when you reapply to test, which steps are waived. I understand that the written is waived. If so is this automatic or do you have to advise them and make sure that they know you already took the writen. Also is the entire written waived or do you still have to do the essay? If there is anyone out there that has tested more then once please help me. Thanks

John Hook,
Once you pass the written, that's it--you don't have to do it again. They already know you passed it, you won't have to do anything to alert them to that fact. That's the only step that's waived. However, if you applied and were DQ'ed recently, your background process will probably go a little faster. At least that was the case with me--I was DQ'ed and reapplied a few years later, now I'm an officer.

Thanks for the response. My BI told me the same thing as for as the process moving a little quicker. He even urged me to do this again and to just make sure that there are no discrepancies next time. This experience of going through the process and not being recommended at the end has really taught me a lot and if anything I have more respect for this career and the position and the department as a whole. If I wasnt sure this is what I wanted to do then I probably would not be re-applying. Thanks again 23112!
