Hey everybody. My name is Jay Vasques and I am from Antioch, CA. I have been going through the hiring process for a while and begin my testing next Saturday. I just want to thank you all for your questions and detailed answers as I have been lurking around the forums for the last month or so.

Introduction and gratitude aside, on to the question... I have several friends and family friends in law enforcement. Including city police offficers and one member of the CHP. Are letters of recommendation allowed? If so, at what point and to whom would they need to be presented?

Letters of recommendation are not needed. You will have the ability to write down references, at which time your BI would contact those people and get the info. that they needed

No letters of recommendation, but depending on your friends relationships to you, you may be able to list them as a reference when the time comes.
