The annual base salary for an officer upon graduation is approximately $53,808.00. Officers receive a five percent base salary increase each year for five years until they reach top step salary of $65,412.

Last month, the base salary was $50,167. Now it has gone up to $53,808. Sweet!!

Our "base salary" has been $53,808 (not counting all the other items we're paid for regardless of overtime) since July, 2005. Increases almost always begin with the fiscal year.

Our current contract and law dictates we're paid on a parity system. It has been discussed elsewhere here, but if we get an increase (or decrease) in pay depends on the pay survey, which will not be known for a few more weeks.

After trying to change our pentions, medical care and God knows what else, he's going to have to step up to the plate to get the majority of our vote. Most of us are pretty conservative and probably Republican, but we don't want to cut off our nose to spite our face.
