Download this rubbish for a laugh!!!
Maybe you can help me out, is "camera" a term used to describe what we term a radar unit? The video refers to "cameras," but as far as I can tell, no photoradar is shown. (Photoradar being an automated system that determines speed and takes a picture of the vehicle/driver -- similar to red light cameras)
Yes, the story is a typical uneducated view of RADAR use, but there are some points. RADAR is not the holy grail of speed determination. Different agencies in the States have varying levels of training, ranging from "here's your RARAR gun, go use it," to in-depth courses. (The CHP has an in-depth course, by the way...) The phenomenon described in the video are realities and the bottom line is that common sense as well as the operators training must be used when operating a RADAR unit. If a RADAR unit displays a speed of 120 MPH for a vehicle you know full well (based on your expert visual estimation) is going about 60 MPH, common sense tells us to look for error.
I could go on and on about RADAR, and in fact, I enjoy testifying in court for RADAR-related citations. RADAR is one of many tools the traffic cop has to determine speed which come together to provide a reasonably accurate estimation of a vehicles velocity.

I'm just brought to a page full of ads that states at the top that I requested to download what you posted. Could you help me out, maybie PM it to me or something? I'm VERY interested in what it says. I'm terrified that I won't pass backgrounds thanks to the infamous Australian speed cameras. I do want to be 100% honest with my BI, but it can be tough when you find out about a ticket in another country you never knew you had, and when your father, who reads The Mercury online daily (my sister has two heads, you see! Her fiancee bears a scar on one shoulder...), tells you that the department involved in those tickets got in a LOT of trouble over it...and I just have to have faith in backgrounds sorting out the facts here!

The officers are on the side of the freeway (on foot, outside of their cars!), motioning cars to pull over to receive a citation! Wild. I wonder if that would work in California.

I suppose it would work -- the question is how many times?

I have personally seen an officer wave in violators on my ride-alongs. Just get in half way in the lane ,point at them right in the face, then point to the shoulder! Eazy way to get some cites.

"and I live with that on a day to daaaa....ooowwww s!#t....that's what happens, as you can see the arm goes into a spasm"
That is classic.
I was pulled over once driving through a town famous for giving out speeding tickets on a road that abruptly goes from 55 to 35mph. I was driving back from a friends house with two other friends with me. I was in an old 1984 full-size Jimmy. It didn't run well when it was cold (actually it didn't run well when it was warm either) so I would put it in second gear to keep the rev's high until the motor warmed up and drive fairly slow it would knock really bad if it shifted into 3rd or overdrive at low speeds when it was cold.
Well in 2nd gear it is impossible for that truck to do over 45mph and the engine noise would be scary loud
it was a foggy night and as I was about to get back into the 55mph zone from the 35mph zone an officer pulled me over and told me I was going 65mph.
I told him I don't see how that was possible.
He made me get out of the car and told me he could have my car towed away for driving "recklessly" but he was going to let me go with a warning. I drove home with no ticket...
He was either blatantly lying and had no reason to pull me over expecting to hand out a DUI or something, or his radar gun didn't work...
