Hi, I have a dumb question. What font does the CHP use to label the "HIGHWAY PATROL"? It looks very nice.

The font used on the Wyoming Highway Patrol looks ugly IMO.

Thanks.
Looks like the CHP is using something very close to Helvetica Bold. The only real difference is in he "G." The WHP looks like a Times font.

We may have a better font, but it looks like Wyoming has:
1. A better car.
2. A better light-bar.
3. A better rear-deck warning light bar
4. An actual police cage (instead of glorified chicken wire).
Not gripin. Just an observation. :shock:ops:

Or local PD starting using the LED light bars and not only are they smaller than the old bars but the lights are much more intense.

When you only have a maximum staffing of 190 troopers (for the entire dept) and they each take home their patrol car that is only 190 cars. That fact makes it easy to have whatever cars they want. Their entire dept is the size of just two of our metro area offices.
They probably don't even have their own auto techs. They probably just stop by the Dodge dealers for service.
After looking at their website (which is better than ours too) they look pretty locked on.
I agree with the above too but sometimes you have to put it into perspective. Just because a PD or another agency has better equipment doesn't mean we are getting a raw deal. Remember many departments only have to buy 70 of something. We have to buy 7000. We have some pretty snazzy lightbars in some of our slicktops now however we recycle equipment until it lifespan is up. I guess that is smart business.

It's all relative.....how many people are in their state for the goverment to generate revenue from? How many do we have?
