View Full Version : Tapatalk iPhone Client
I've added support for the Tapatalk (http://www.tapatalk.com/iphone/) Client for iPhone. For now, I've set CHPForums not to show up when you browse forums, but if you search for CHPForums, it will come up.
I just tried this program today and honestly, I'm not thrilled. Hopefully it will get better with time.
As of now, this is still the best interface I've come across. I'm surprised there is not more support in vBulletin for the iPhone.
Anyway, it's there if you want it.
Looks like an interesting app. Why are you less than thrilled with it?

Have you looked at Vbulletin.org instead of Vbulletin.com

DW, have you seen phpBB for the iPhone? It's great. It's the full site when you have the phone in landscape and when you turn it vertical it goes to an iPhone optimized layout. You can see it here at: modernvespa.com
(and yes I have a Vespa and I'm proud of it!)

How about helping out us winmo users?
Looks like an interesting app. Why are you less than thrilled with it?There was recently an update and I'm a little more satisfied. It did not have a "New Posts" option previously, which is essentially how I browse the forum. It now has that option. It just seems far less than "iPhone" in terms of style and smoothness.
Have you looked at Vbulletin.org instead of Vbulletin.comYup. There are one or two somewhat-supported styles, but nothing great.
DW, have you seen phpBB for the iPhone? Nope, but unfortunately there's no way I'm going to phpBB with what I've invested in vB.... I don't want to look because I know I'll be disappointed with what we have.
How about helping out us winmo users? :biggrin:Winmo? Really? Sorry gabriel, I hate to break it to you, but I think you're the last of the Mohicans.
(Okay, I actually looked at the stats and Winmo must report as Windows, because while we have 5.62% iPhone and 0.01% Nintendo Wii, we have not a single Winmo report. Coincidentally, Sun OS is less popular than the Wii.)
Oh, there's a free version of TapaTalk now.
Oh, there's a free version of TapaTalk now.
I finally went to the app store and checked it out - the free version is read-only. I think I'll give the freebie a try and see if it's worth it to me to invest the $2.99 in the paid version (yeah, I know - high finances!)
I'm discontinuing support for Tapatalk effective immediately. There are a couple of reasons behind this.
Tapatalk uses something of a back door into the forum that I've never been completely comfortable with, whereas Forumrunner does not. We only have about five people per day using Tapatalk (whereas we have about 18 using Forumrunner).
Forumrunner, in my experience, has been more feature rich and usable. It has a free version and also supports the iPad. In the end, supporting both of these and the necessary updates is just a pain and Forumrunner wins.
Sorry to those five of you using Tapatalk. Give Forumrunner a try.

I was one of the handful of people visiting via tapatalk, although not much in the past few weeks (since my ipod decided to stop working )
No big deal, thanks for staying on top of stuff!
