After receiving my application response today I realized the dates for the Phsyical, Psyc and QAP conflict, they had to be the only week of this entire summer that I have something planned.
My band is doing a short tour up the west coast. The dates haven't been confirmed entirely but it's pretty much July 7th-12th hitting, Visalia, Fresno, San Francisco, Portland and Seattle and travel time to get back. Since I'll still be in California for the Physical and Psych I can probably just drive back to wherever I need to be for those. Is it at all possible to arrange to have the QAP interview later in the week when I will have returned or do I need to choose between playing Portland or Seattle to do the interview.
I'm gonna do whatever it takes to get in but man, what crappy circumstances. The biggest bummer is that I've got to cut my hair after letting it grow for 2-years and get rid of the beard before I tour, oh well.

When/if you pass your PAT, you will schedule your QAP with the officers at the PAT. I would just ask them for an appointment later in the week. Usually they try and get the people who are from out of state done within the first day or two of that week. You may want to call the recruiting office for your division that you are testing out of and ask them. Just explain the circumstances and they will tell you what to do. Hope all goes well.

When I went through the process last year, I didn't get to schedule my QAP date. It was just assigned to me.
Of course, the PAT was done after the QAP, so it might be different now.

Like undertow said, they try to schedule out of towners for the beginning of the week then everyone else gets what's leftover. All you can do is ask but I wouldn't expect much accommodation, especially if you tell them it's to work around your band's touring schedule.
Not to sound harsh but, start thinking about how to adjust your life to accomodate the CHP's schedule and you'll be on the right track.
Just for kicks, ask Makakona about scheduling convenient days/times for testing... ;)

Sounds like the bands touring without you.

I am trying to work out pushing the dates back a week but I think a few of them were confirmed. I will work out the details with our "agent" this weekend and update. I suppose this is a bit of motivation, I've been working at getting this tour together for a year now but ultimately the CHP is more important.
Worst case scenario, I'll cancel the out of state shows.
Don't expect a lot of sympathy when scheduling your QAP. Yes, preference is generally given to those testing from out of state -- but everyone has job responsibilities and personal obligations they must work around. Chances are you will not have a lot of choice in the QAP date.
