I guess taking a personal day no longer works?

Geeze Blockbuster is full of entertainment, I wished I worked there in my high school days.
Maybe stocking the shelves and dealing with late returns caught up to him. I'll grab a popcorn for this one.

I actually am currently an employee of Blockbuster.
Horrible company to work for.

with the practice of mail in movies gaining steam, I doubt Blockbuster will survive their current financial problems.

Agree AG. I have been a member of Netflix for a few years now. Blockbuster is heading for it's "remember when" days.

Sure is. About 60% of the stores in my area have closed and I'm sure the rest are on borrowed time.

You know what's going to be interesting is how the mail in movie companies react to the US Postal service's attempt to limit delivery to 5 days a week.
I haven't been watching many movies for some years now, but I hate to see another nail in the coffin of American retail workers. This one has less roots in unfair competition than it does in advances in technology though, so I can't really beef about it much.

Fortunately this guy isn't in California. Here he would probably qualify for disability payments while he healed. Retraining stimulus dollars too, 'cause he is unlikely to work in his field again

I dont know if the mail-in services will be their ultimate demise. Im thinking the Red Box idea is what's going to destroy their business, if it hasn't already.

Netflix works pretty fast. I drop a DVD in the mail on Monday and get an e-mail it has been received by Tuesday morning. Most of the Blockbusters in my area have either closed or moved to a much smaller store.

No problem getting movies if USPS eliminates Saturday delivery. You can get your Netflix movies online.

Right now we have a special if you open a new account you get a free (yes, free) movie pass (exchange 1 out at a time as much as you want) for 30 days. So if you haven't already, stop by and open an account just for the pass.
Hint:It goes by Driver's License number, so use a DL that you have not created an existing account with.
Also, yes Netflix is killing us.
