Was wondering if anyone knows of good places to go hunting in southern or central california? I want to get a boar but not sure where to start.
Thanks,

Here's one of the State resources: http://www.caoutdoors.com/Hunting-California.htm
I think Monterey County down into Big Sur have prime locations. I would have to ask my son-in-law. Seems to me he only did that once, but his brothers would know more about it. Scares the bejabbers out of me, however.

Arrowhead/Big Bear, Monterey County, Goleta, Kern County, Inyo, Santa Cruz
Good luck - those things scare the S*&^ out of me

Try the area around this OHVP. When I was there the place was just thick with them. I've hunted them up here in the north, but not down there. But they are definately in that area. Saw as many as 50 at once in the nightime.

Cool thanks for the info! Hopefully I can go this fall. It would be my first time getting a boar. I've only hunted Pheasant in Kansas so far. Thanks again

Well at least you don't have to climb a tree to get away from a wounded pheasant! Love pheasants --I grew up in Nebraska.

I've gone out west of Coalinga a few times and have bagged some nice boars and meat hogs.
