With just over a month to start day, I thought someone should get this going. Anxious and nervous about starting the academy, but I can't wait to begin this new career and life.!!

Good luck to all of you in CTC -III 09. We will be here for support
Be available to support your cadet. You will hear this for the next 27 weeks but it is so true. Your cadet needs to know you are handling things ok.
I tell my husband this each time I have to take care of something difficult, "that's another drink with an umbrella in it when you take me away on vacation on a beach somewhere!"
This is can be tough at times but together you can do this. Your cadet will appreciate how lucky he or she is to have you as their biggest cheerleader. You can do anything for 27 weeks! Congratulations!!

It's already week #11 for CTC II-09, but it seems like just yesterday that we were on our last week right before academy!!
Best of luck to CTC III-09 who will be starting next Monday, just ONE week from today! Enjoy your friends and family as much as you can this week as Monday will be here before you know it!!
Hang in there, you can do this.

Yea no kidding, it DOES feel like yesterday that we were on our last week before hubby started academy, and look at them now, they are already seniors! It really is true, it does fly by!
You will hear that this academy is the toughest thing you and your spouse will ever experience, as it will, I want to reassure you that even though the first few weeks will really be the toughest, once you can get past those, everything becomes routine for the both you, and your loved ones, and then it goes by quickly. If your ever having douts, think about what a reward there is in the end and push through the hard times!
If you ever need encouragement, motivation, have questions, or just someone to share your thoughts with, we are all here for you!

So today the hubby and I are in Sacramento.... We did a road trip starting last Sunday up here and stopped in Napa, Tahoe and now we are here....
At dinner last night we were talking about how bittersweet this is.... It is wonderful because we have been able to spend some quality time together.... but sad because we have to say goodbye on Monday morning......
Is there anyone else up here already? Going to the orientation on Sunday?

"Keep going, don't EVER give up--- it is NOT an option"....Remind your cadets of that whenever you 'hear' it in their voice. My officer just finished break-in and it seems like just yesterday I was glued to the Forums and the CHP site for any hint at how he was...as a Mom of a young cadet my anxiety was always high, but I can tell you I have never been more proud of any person in my life than I am my son and what he has accomplished. He is a member of THE FINEST LE agency in the world.
As family members keep yourselves strong, healthy and focused---your cadet needs that from you. Good luck and God Bless....

The first week is the hardest; and the first Sunday night. 27 weeks is a long time. But think of it ome week at a time. When I was in, I made a chart and marked off the days. After about 3 weeks, you learn how to cope with it all. Whatever you do, don't quit. Don't even think it. If your roommate wants to quit, tie him down to his rack. My quadmates did it to one guy who eventually failed high speed. Failure is admirable if it was truly your best effort. This is a great job with great pay and benifits. Don't give it up in this horrible economy. If anyone needs extra encouragement, PM me and my wife or I will get back to you. She was a tremendous help to me in the academy.

Hello everyone. My husband is in the CTC-III-09 class. When he came home for the weekend he asked me, "Where is all the support on this site for our class?" So, I became a member and here I am . ready to support all the cadets and their family members. If you haven't become a member yet please sign up and help support the cadets and their families. This means a great deal to them. If you are like me, I didn't realize just how much it means to them until my husband said something.
Cadets hang in there! You've all made it to week seventeen. You should all be proud of yourselves for making it this far. Only ten weeks to go.. So, don't let it be overwhelming. Believe in yourself and stay strong. Don't ever give up. You can do this.If you stay focused and motivated you will be greatly rewarded in the end. So, don't beat your head against the wall!:hitwall: I am proud of all of you and praying for all of you everyday. Now, last but least, don't let your cookie crumble!

Hello, I am a wife of a CTC III-09 Cadet. I know its a little late to start writing now, but I always read the posts, and I have been sad to see how little our class posts messages. We have lost so many Cadets, and I do not take for granted one day that my husband has remained in the academy. We have 4 kids, and live in L.A. He has only come home 5 times since this began. I never could of prepared myself for this experience. Ladies, I do believe we are as much as them in our own life changing experience... I am very excited to start planning for graduation, and I hope to meet some of you, especially anyone who live's in L.A., or are moving here soon. Almost over, I can't believe it, not sure if it went by fast, but I am grateful that it will soon be over!

For those of you still in: Congratulations! I hope each of you makes it to graduation and has a long, happy, and safe career.

We, Company B, did get a special visit with Mr. Liddell. Awesome experience since I myself am a huge Chuck fan. Co. A did the blog for the week but it was too cool of a picture to leave out. As of today, CTC III-09 is done with the E.V.O.C. monster. It's unfortunate that it took so many of my classmates.
It's been a heck of a week. I think we are now down to 117 from 198 cadets. Tonight is the first time home for me in over 2 months. Hoorah that CTC III-09 is finished with Evoc and Scenarios. It is terrible to bleed cadets, many good friends were sent home in the recent months. I am looking forward to the month ahead and know that everyone there will continue to give 110%.

My cadet class graduated an officer that was on his third time through the academy. he spent 64 weeks at the academy. His first attempt he failed skid pan, his second attempt he failed highspeed. and his third attempt he graduated with us. All he wanted to be was a chippie and was going to stop at nothing less.

I'm not sure what exactly you're looking for, but Wednesday morning is the Capitol Run, Wednesday evening is the cadet party, and Thursday morning is the Family Support Panel. I am not sure on the times, but when it get closer to grad week, there's usually additional information posted here (http://www.chp.ca.gov/cadet/). Your cadet should also have information for you on the cadet party and Family Support Panel.

Glad you could join us at the Academy.
Eh, I'm becoming a "regular" there! I will be there when you graduate on the 19th, as well!
I was wondering about the party on Wednesday night? What is the dress code? My husband said buisness casual, but not sure what that is exactly? I know this is a girly question to worry about, but when you are flying, there is not alot of room for error if I am not dressed right. Just want to be prepared, so I can have a good time and enjoy the night...

Business casual for gentlemen would be button-up shirt, no tie and slacks with dress shoes. For ladies, a cocktail-length dress would be fine.
When in doubt, "Sunday Best" is almost always a safe bet. Better to be overdressed than underdressed.

Happy Graduation Week to all of you!!! Congratulations to the cadets and their families for making it through Camp Snoopy! I'll see you significant others on Thursday and I'll be watching as you cadets become officers on Friday!!!
First off, I want to congratulate all the Cadets who are soon to become Officers on Friday. Now I would like to congratulate you, the SIGNIFICANT others for keeping your family member motivated and grounded. Because of your hard work, they were able to focus their attention on their training. And believe me when I tell you, I gave them much to focus their attention on. I am very proud of this class. I know there are rumors about this class spreading, but as I told the class, I would like to focus and celebrate the remaining 59% rather than the ones who were unsuccessful.
But please keep this in mind, although your family member, friend, or whatever is about to graduate...the training has not stopped. In fact, it is about to be turned up a few notches. They may be home more often, but their mind needs to be focused on Break-In. Please, don't fall into the mindset, "well you are home now, now you can take care of everything." Break-In is harder, more demanding, and dangerous. This is no longer the sterile environment they have been in the past 6 months. Once they make it off of break-in....well, have at it!!! But again, please be patient just a little bit longer. Break-In, can be brutal.
Thank you again for your support for your significant other, and be extremely proud of their accomplishment. I have enjoyed watching them grow into soon to be fine Officers.

Congradulations to the graduating cadets!!! My husband is currently your Junior and I am so excited for the day we are able to go through graduation week. Its a tough road but you and your families made it! We have a long road ahead of us still but hearing of all the success stories has surely helped on the hard days and weeks. The Junior class will miss you... in more ways than one!! Again, Congradulations cadets and their families, enjoy your days off!!!

+1
and congratulations !
Congrats! Tomorrow should be the Capitol Run and I hope everyone has a blast! Remember to keep your eye on the badge, and while you are THIS close ||, like Czar said, break-in starts and the "fun" really begins. SOs, the FTOs are a continuation of the academy staff. They are the ones who give your cadet his real life training. They are not there to be your cadets buddy, they are there to make sure your cadet will come home at the end of his watch. Like the academy, there is a reason for everything.
