I'm selling a TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph Tachymetre as a favor to my wife's sister. In a nutshell, the sister's husband, in typical dirtbag function, left her to take care of their two sons and pay the mortgage on their house, and he ran off with his pregnant girlfriend. She is selling items he left behind in order to make ends meet. :hitwall:

I've listed the watch on eBay, and you are welcome to view it there at http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&item=220445301894

It is for a beautiful TAG Heuer Carrera Automatic Chronograph Tachymetre timepiece with a stainless steel link band. Along with requisite Swiss build quality, the Carrera features a 41 mm polished steel case, automatic movement which allows for manual winding, luminescent hands and hour indices, date calendar function, and a chronograph (stopwatch) function.

This Swiss watch is from one previous owner, who bought it new from Ben Bridge Jewelers for $2,695 and wore it very infrequently simply because Dirtbag preferred a soft band for his bony wrist. He bought another TAG Heuer Carrera with a rubber strap and placed this stainless steel banded Carrera in its box for storage. I think it would look sharp and impressive as a "court watch" or one to wear on a Category-10 inspection.

This watch is in incredible condition and an even better find for the price. Please look at the photographs carefully, as they show the outstanding condition of the watch and the few use marks, which include a 6 mm line and a 3 mm grouping of pinpoints on the left outer side of the case, a minor 15 mm scratch across two of the bottom band links, and typical marks on other parts of the band from being worn. The bezel, watch face, and sapphire back are flawless and brilliant in any light. With proper winding, the watch keeps sharp, precise time, which I monitored with updates from the U.S. atomic clock.

Included with the sale of this timepiece are the original outer box, the inner leather and wood storage case, the pillow the watch rests on while in storage, a leather pouch for the paperwork, the instruction manual, a blank international guarantee card, and a blank Preferred Owner Program card.

As a CHP Officer myself, I'll ship this watch for free to any verified California Highway Patrol Officer, and the first Officer's offer of $1,800 gets it. I suppose a Sergeant or Lieutenant could also buy it.

Remember, this sale is going to help a mother and her two kids in my extended family. Please spread the word.

Beautiful watch, sorry to hear about the back story. Best of luck with the sale.

Are you also a pilot?

Indeed, it is a beautiful watch, one I'd buy myself except I already own one, except for a rubber band (I bought dirtbag's other TAG from my wife's sister to help her out).

I'm not a pilot, but I do fly pretty close to the pavement on C-watch. It is, frankly, too nice of a timepiece to wear on duty, especially if chances are good you are going to go hands-on with violators. My partner had his watch become a pavement grinder in a scuffle, and, while it still works, the scratches on the case and face crystal are obvious character marks.

The tachymetre would be a sweet tool to use to on duty measure speed if policy wasn't strictly against it and bumper pacing wasn't easier.
