View Full Version : Patrol Car Testing
The Dodge? You may never see it on the road. They may be the best overall tested vehicle, but enter the politics into the mix, and your guess is as good as mine. Right now, every support system is geared to the Ford and would be easier to stay with that, but you never know. Personally I would like to drive something has enuf oomph to get out of its own way. We've had faster and we've had slower (anybody that remembers the 318 St. Regis....yadda yadda). Whatever is the politically correct vehicle is the one they'll go with.

Like I've said before, I think Dodge is in the CHP's future.

OK I was just confused. Wasn't sure if you were talking about the next academy class or something.

There he goes again with the "us". Must be that mouse in his pocket. I have to say I take exception to that statement for a number of reasons. You have not done what I and approximately 18,000 others have done to be included with "us". You have yet to complete and pass all portions of the hiring process. You have yet to attend and complete the academy. You have yet to make it off break in. You have yet to make it off probation. You have yet to write a ticket, work a crash, arrest a duece, spend holidays away from your family, miss your kids baseball game, school play or honor roll ceremony. You have yet to tell someone there child was killed by a drunk driver. You have yet to have a young person die in your hands while you tried to revive them after a crash. You have yet to stand as an Honor Guard at your friends funeral. You have yet to kiss your wife and kids goodbye and wonder if its the last time you will ever do that. There are so many things you have not done. Before you include yourself with me and the other 18,000 Officers of the California Highway Patrol (Past and Present) you have to pay your dues. Now on the flip side I truely admire your determination. You are the type of person the CHP needs. Its folks like you that I want as my beat partner. So when you pin on that gold star one day let me know and we'll go have a beer and talk about all the people that want to be like "US"

Yes 10-7, but rest assured, no matter what we do get in the future, someone on graves will take your car out and a duece will soil the back seat or a mocha will take a nose dive... Just givin' you a hard time, Lil'... It's all out of love
