That's pretty bold talk from someone on their third attempt:surprised:
Perhaps some day you'll learn to respect all other LE agencies. To say another agency is "nothing" tells volumes about your maturity.
Yeah, I know you're probably going to say your were just kidding and I need to chill out but looking at your other posts I think you need to grow up.

After driving through NY the past couple days, I can assume that a) there are no traffic laws or b) traffic laws are NEVER enforced. Although, there is an officer on every street corner and when we saw someone riding a bike get run over, an officer was on the scene in less than 10 seconds.

Nothing against the NYPD, but New York is a zoo.

I know that all agencies do the best they can with what they have. I'm proud to be a part of the CHP, but that does not stem my interest in other agencies, most especially NYC.

Nothing? I thought the video made the NYPD Highway Patrol division look good. It is pretty cool to see a motorcade roll by with a large motorcycle escort. It was interesting to learn that all members of the NYPD Highway Patrol have to pass motor school. My hats off to them, I don't think I would want to ride a motor on the busy streets of New York City.

Been away a couple of days and just saw this thread.

Agill, I wasn't trying to compare the NYPD HPB to the CHP, nor determine who's 'better.' I was showing what the Highway Patrol in MY area is comprised of and thought the video was interesting, to say the least. Somehow, I think you knew that.

To the others who responded to Agill, as we say in New York, "Thanks for the back."

JS, I can only assume you were in Manhattan. It IS a complete and utter zoo in Manhattan at almost all times. I've never thought of what it would look like from an outsiders perspective but, you're right, there are no traffic laws in the City. It's every man for himself. But, if you want a cab, simply raise your hand up and the guy will cross over all 4 lanes, cutting everyone off to get over to you.

Not sure if you hit any other areas in the outer boroughs, but you'd probably be surprised there, too. The maximum speed limit on any highway within the confines of the City is 50 mph. If you get on almost any highway/parkway within the city and attempt to do 50, you're taking your life in your hands. People routinely do 65-70+. Like you said, that's no reflection on the NYPD as much as it's a reflection of the people of New York and the inability of the police to 'catch 'em all.'

The next time you're coming to the city, inbox me. I'd be glad to meet you and make sure you get the VIP tour of the NYPD.

NYPD is a HUGE department. One of my cousins is Highway in BK and loves the job, Intel Unit is world class.

There are hundreds of special units and if you are a worker there is room to move up. The problem over the last 4+ years is the pay/schedule but the new contract is decent, once you make it to year 5 base in 90K+.

I lived in NYC for 6 years, best city in the world, no doubt...but you need the bucks to do it right.
