I found this posted by a member on one of the automotive forums I frequent.
Ok so last week I agreed to car pool with some collegues of mine to take advantage of the new HOV Lane on I10 and to save on parking expenses. Cool.
I arrived at my collegue's house this morning greeted by the driver and one other passenger in the pool. As we proceeded to go to the car I noticed that the driver had a freshly poured bowl of cereal in one hand and a cup of coffee in the other. I had to ask "are you seriously going to drive with that bowl of cereal in your lap?" he says "relax I do this almost every morning." Reluctantly I said ok because he is always on time. OMG - this guy was driving down I10 with his leg doing 70mph while eating a bowl of cereal and drinking coffee. Then get this - he proceeds to answer his ringing cell phone! Now he is talking on his cell phone (head/shoulder technique), eating a bowl of cereal and drinking his coffee (literally) while driving at a high rate of speed with his leg. Hold up because it doesn't stop there. Shortly after he answered his phone and casually talking he had the nerve to aggressively ride someone's bumper (Ford F150) who was traveling the speed limit in the HOV lane. Now much doesn't scare me but this is when I began to clutch my seat belt and say a little prayer to myself in the back seat. Praying that the person in front of us doesn't ubruptly slow down. [-o< I wanted say something but the last thing I wanted to do was break his concentration and cause an accident.
Needless to say we made it safely but I will never carpool in his car again! I have heard stories but now I have seen first hand how some people can literraly be dangerous drivers. WOW I am still amazed!
Please be careful driving. There are really people out there who are not concerned about the welfare of themselves or the safety of others.
