Well, I just got a call from my BI that I made it. I just have to wait until I get my acceptance letter to see which day I will have to report. I'm excited but have yet to celebrate as I have a cold that has knocked me down for a couple of days. But anyway. I wanted to drop a line for all those that are pursuing their careers in Law Enforcement. Google Dr. Randy Pauschs' "The Last Lecture". I think that this would be some great motivation for the road that lies ahead of all of us. There will be alot of brick walls in our way. But remember, they are there for those people who dont want it bad enough. Im 36 years old and am proof that no matter what age you are, or the odds that stand in your way, dont give up on your dreams. Congrats to all that have made it. To those that have not yet, go over, go through, or go around those barriers. I look forward to seeing my fellow classmates in the future.

Thanks Jason

I think you have a few more weeks before the new class starts. That is plenty of time to get over your ailment. By the way, I have made some corrections for you. I would suggest you practice your writing skills. You will need them in the academy and when you graduate to the field.

It would benefit you greatly to do your research before asking questions like this. I am not trying to be rude, but someone else is going not going to be as nice about it. Use the search feature here. Read the all of the posting rules and regulations. Don't ask hiring or academy questions. Save yourself the trouble of any further lashing by figuring that answer out in a method that has been suggested ad nausuem on this forum.

If you are not self motivated you will not survive the academy. PERIOD. If you do not want it for yourself, your family, your community, dont bother. The academy is not the place to make your decision. As far as being "knocked out" from a cold...I hope you can function at 100% with that cold because there are no "sick days" at the academy. Good Luck.

I agree 100%. I actually went out for a 3 miler today and it cleared it up. I dont believe in sick days unless it could spread throughout the work place. Believe me, Im already getting my mind back into Marine Corp mode.

I just went to the cadet uniform supplier in West Sacramento and was fitted for my smurf blues. Though I will likely get tired of wearing the uniform, it was cool to see it on in the mirror.
