I will be graduating from college in May of 2007 and I am ready to send my application through the Valley Division this summer. My question is this: Am I applying too early?
I know the process takes up to a year or longer. If I successfully complete the written/essay, PAT, QAP, background, and medical, I do not want to put myself in a situation where I go through the process quickly enough that I would be accepted to an academy before I graduate. I realize many factors will affect how long it takes (background history, applicant load, etc.). Am I worrying or thinking too far ahead of myself? Any input will be greatly appreciated.

apply now. if you fail a part then you will still have tons of time to apply again. also if you do pass everything early then they will be willing to delay your academy date until you graduate. i am going to delay mine until sept.

Since I have applied twice (to get a better QAP score because at the time they were only taking 95s, so I had to go a second time to get it), I took my 2nd QAP in sept and wil be going to the may 29 class. Although there were some problems along the way, I would say the total process would end up being about a year. I would go ahead and apply. That way you won't be left with nothing to do for a couple months after you graduate (like I did )
