Are there academy class rings or does anyone think that this is a good idea if there are not? I was picturing the CHP star shield set into the top of the ring and the individual's class set into the side maybe.

My wife bought me a CHP ring after I retired. It is like a Super Bowl ring but like my wife says, "football players don't put their life on the line every day"
I think she got in from someone who advertized in the APB. It is big, gold, and the front is the CHP star with my rank and ID number and a little diamond right in the middle. It is also engraved inside the band.
Not a class ring but a dandy for sure.
Before anyone asks, here is a link where you can see what I am talking about.

I didn't get one since I was a young married guy when I went through the Academy and couldn't afford one. After I retired I wanted one and I had one made at Wal Mart by Jostens in Wal Mart's jewelery department. It has an American flag on one side and the scales of justice on the other as well CHP and my ID # on the face lettered around a Royal Blue stone. It also has the year I came on (1974) and my name on the surface. Inside it has the dates I served, 09/30/74-12/31/01. It is one of a kind and cost less than a hundred bucks. I know it is attractive, since I have had unsolicited comments from at least five women, including a stewardess on SW Airlines over it. Point is, it is possible to buy one at the Academy or have your own made up by Jostens. Either way they are very nice. Mine resembles a West Point (Military Academy) ring.
