So, I contacted my BI today just to see how everything was going...I did ask if there was anything that he found that would DQ me...I was completely truthful, but after reading some of the post here I get a little nervous. He said that he could not say at the moment that it would have to wait until I went to the finial interview. He did say that he was going to schedule me to take my written psych (since mine expired in Jan 06), and that he would schedule me to do that as well as my final interview and medical. So, my question is that if he is going to schedule everything I stated above is that a good thing since I am clear across the country? He would not have me fly to CA just to tell me that I was DQed would he? That would cost me a lot of money! This is a great asset to everyone that is in the process and out of the process...Thank you for have this as a resource!

Thanks

Just my two cents........but if they are wanting you out here to do all the additional stuff, and are paying for it, I'd say like it sounds as if you're ok.

No guarantees, of course, but if there was some glaring thing in your background they wouldn't be spending the money ahead of time.

Best of luck to you!

I was kind of in the same boat. I was finishing my degree in TN, but my permanent residence was in CA. I had to fly out for the QAP and PAT (they were in the same week) and then drive out for the final interview and CVSA. I hope to have the oral psych this next week. They will do their best to work through any issues that you may have in you background, but any omissions in you PHS can have a negative impact in your progress. I highly doubt they would DQ you for something that could be worked through over the phone, but if something comes up in the CVSA that was concealed or "forgotten" about, there could be problems there. Just be open and honest about everything and take responsability for whatever happens, and things should be fine.

Thanks for the post...But if they were going to pay for my flight I would not have a problem...I would have to pay for the flight out there.

Well....I have never been written up... except for once and I disclosed that...Also, I was fired from a job (in 1996) and I disclosed that...Other then the things I said above I do not have anything in my background. What is CVSA?? Is that that the voice?? I would love to talk to you after you have your oral psych...I am curious on what goes on there!! Thanks for your post!! Are you shooting for the May 29th academy?? If so, that what my BI is shooting for me!

Thanks again!

I know you addressed this to DW, but I know this one! No they are not they are required to take the CVSA.

Thanks DW for the information...I had a feeling what the CVSA was, but wanted to make sure.
