ANYONE TESTING OUT OF CENTRAL DIVISION THIS SATURDAY????
If you are out of central division what is your status in the hiring process?
I took the PAT and QAP out of Valley, but since I live in the Central Sierra my packet was transferred to Central. I sent my packet to Valley on 02/04 and learned that it was at Central at the end of February. I am still waiting for my first contact with the BI. I'm wondering if they are waiting to lump me in with this testing group or if they are just really backed up (I'm kind of betting on the latter).
Good luck to you guys and gals that are testing on Saturday and remember a beginning, middle, and an end for your essay.
Oh and it's not too late to download the applicant study guide from the main site and read about the written test. It's free and it's a great tool.

Central Division = really backed up.
That's what I figured from some of your past posts, thanks for the confirmation.

How backed up? I'm testing on Saturday. Is Valley less backed up, do you know?

I can't speak for other areas......all I can tell you is this: In our office, we have two officers who are "technically" assigned to Divsion, but they work from our area doing backgrounds......
Due to the Commissioners push to add more officers, and to try to fill up the Academy classes to help replace bodies we were down anyways....there's a big drive on to get classes full....so much so that we have added two more officers in my area alone to help with the backgrounds........so now we have 4.
If you're waiting on a background in Central Div.....I'd say the next couple months will be eventful for you. They are really trying to grind through these and get those classes full. I would imagine its the same in every division - the hard part is getting the extra manpower to do them......but the top brass is really wanting these classes full........ if you're waiting, it'll likely happen soon. Just hang in there.
I took the written on 09/20/2005
physical and oral interviews were held on the first week of november 2005.
received my commitment to hire on 12/10/05
turned my PHS in on 12/18/05
i have had reference letters sent out early february.
im still waiting for that initial call.
Thanks for the info CAL911GAL:biggrin:

Cal911gal,
Ditto to what CHP1 said. Thanks for the info you give all of us applicants. You provide some very unique insight that has been very helpful.
