Am wondering if any of you were involved in either the actual scene, or the traffic backup. Intriguing, and I guess the details will be known with time.

We have not seen a freeway shooting in quite some time," Vernon said. "And this case really stands out in the number of rounds fired at the victim's car and the kind of car the victim was driving."
I counted at least 10 bullet holes, and it looks as though there were more because of an area where the glass was probably shot out. Someone had a high capacity clip in the minimum, and was a lousy shot to boot.

Man, I sure am glad that the Legislature banned High Capacity Magazines so the bad guys don't get them...

Bentley driver shot on LA freeway dies at hospital
The Associated Press
Published: Monday, Dec. 15, 2008
LOS ANGELES --
The driver of a Bentley who was repeatedly shot last week on Highway 101 has died from his injuries, leaving police with few to no witnesses to the shooting that left the luxury car riddled with bullets south of downtown.
Jose Luis Macias, 25, was transported to the hospital Friday after at least one person opened fire on the silver Bentley Continental, causing Macias to crash into a highway median. He died two days later, police said Monday.
Investigators know little about Macias and have no motives for the shooting, Detective Wallace Tennelli said. He would not say whether they have any suspects.
Police said they do not believe the car belonged to Macias, but would not release the owner's name. The 2005 car was purchased recently because it had a temporary license plate that read "Dream," from Dream Motor Cars near Beverly Hills, where a similar model is listed for $99,900.
The shooting and subsequent crash snarled freeway traffic for more than eight hours Friday morning. Police said a passing motorist who saw the Bentley jammed against a highway median found Macias slumped over the steering wheel with several gunshot wounds. The car's side had at least 10 bullet holes.
Police said they have no witnesses the shooting and found no weapons, drugs or other illegal items in the car.
Investigators said they were looking for traffic camera video of the Bentley that might help the investigation.
