Anyone know of any VC that addresses vehicles that broadcast sound messages? I've tried to search "broadcast vehicle" in the code, but nothing really popped up. Maybe they refer to it by another name?

It depends what the broadcasting is used for. 27007 deals with Sound amplification but has several exemptions.
Sound Amplification Devices
27007. No driver of a vehicle shall operate, or permit the operation of, any sound amplification system which can be heard outside the vehicle from 50 or more feet when the vehicle is being operated upon a highway, unless that system is being operated to request assistance or warn of a hazardous situation. This section shall not apply to authorized emergency vehicles or vehicles operated by gas, electric, communications, or water utilities. This section does not apply to the sound systems of vehicles used for advertising, or in parades, political or other special events, except that use of sound systems on those vehicles may be prohibited by a local authority by ordinance or resolution.

That's precisely what I'm trying to find. Maybe the VC has a different term than Broadcast vehicle?

Well, I cannot seem to find anything on broadcasting vehicles or advertising vehicles. Maybe the state didn't choose to regulate them.
I thought this was kind of humorous though. Make sure your subjects can readily escape if you walk away from your cruiser when it's locked:surprised:
22516. No person shall leave standing a locked vehicle in which
there is any person who cannot readily escape therefrom.

This seems like the section you are looking for... If you can here sounds coming from the vehicle more than 50 feet away and the vehicle is moving it is a violation. It doesn't directly exclude advertising vehicles.
I am assuming by advertising or broadcast vehicle that you mean they either are talking through a public address system, playing loud music, or playing an advertising message. No matter which of the above they are doing, if it can be heard more than 50 feet away it is a violation under this section.

I think you may be mistaken sir. Unless I'm missing something. So far, all I can come up with is that broadcast type vehicles for advertising were left up to municipal codes. Some muni's have them and others no. I presume it''s probably because this type of advertising went out of style.
