What is the relationship with USPP in the San Fran area?

Here in DC, USPP is a full service agency that gets a ton of action. They patrol all the highways around DC, NARC, Air/Marine, Vice, etc.

One of my classmates from the USSS is now w/ Park and is moving to San Fran soon. I have heard good/bad about USPP in CA, wanted some other opinions.

Also, where do most Officers live in the Bay area, kind of expensive in that area.

Thanks -

I went on a ride along with them in SF a few years back. My understanding was that they are the primary law enforcement agency in the Presidio area. They have 911 dispatchers who answer 911 calls for residents living there and Park Police officers answer calls for service instead of SFPD.

We went to a dispute between neighbors, a domestic, made contact with a suspicious group in a park, and made a few traffic stops. Not too busy, but it was a day shift.

As far as investigating crimes, I really don't know what they would hand off to SFPD and what they would keep in-house. Or if the Park Police has Special Agent positions, maybe they investigate it all... I'm not sure.

We didn't have any contact with CHP on my ride-along as only a very small part of the Park Police patrol area comes up towards a divided highway.

From what the officer I rode with said, they're a lot busier in DC and that's really their bread and butter... other cities have much smaller presences.
