My co-workers just informed me about free coffee from 10AM to Noon today.
I work in SF. I am not sure if this is all the Starbucks or only in SF.

free promotion, I hate Starbucks. 7-11 coffee if brewed within 30 minutes, no gas station coffee. Donut shop coffee anyday. Actually, I need coffee with a Denver Omlette, muffin, no butter.
7-11 is pretty darn good, especially working COZEEP.

Sorry folks...
I have yet to find a better cup of coffee than the stuff I brew in my office every day...

7-11 is not bad, their new soda machines with the cherry and vanilla syrup additions are awesome too. Nothing like creating your own diet cherry vanilla pepsi. I admit though, I've been on an Americano kick from Starbucks. While it is kind of fadish, it has almost not calories and is pretty strong, perfect for the long nights.
Hooray for caffeine. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v62/Welpe/woohoosmiley.gif

What is COZEEP?????
I have not seen any in a while..........
But now you'll need to roam the closure, write tags and hook deuces.
I'm no connoisseur - Maybe I've spent too much time on graveyard shift, but I can drink just about any coffee that I don't have to chip or spoon out of the pot. With enough cream and sugar, ANYTHING tastes good! I'm not a big Starbucks fan - I don't like drinks that take longer to order than they do to drink (venti double chai mocha latte frappe, percent, equal, bla bla bla...). I think their coffee is highly overrated - AM/PM or 7-11 coffee tastes just as good or better to me, and doesn't cost half as much!
OK - A topic that I can relate too. In my previous life (Navy) coffee was a brown tarry substance with the "rainbow" covering of an oil slick shimmering on the surface. Navy guys - you know what I'm talking about. Pretty good stuff.
Anyway, I digress, Starbuck is good if you don't get the daily special and all that mocha-frappe crud. I get an Americano - two shots espresso and hot water - same every time - strong - relatively cheap. Good stuff.

I get an espresso roast and make my own coffee at home. Then I have a thermos of my own coffee with me rather then drink some two hour old stuff from a stop and rob.

Tom- isn't real Navy coffee made with a dash of salt?
Starbucks is wonderful therapy for people who have a difficult time making life decisions. For those magical 30 seconds, you are master of your world and you know exactly what you want. "I'll have a venti mocha frappucino, non-fat whipped cream, skim milk, blah blah blah.."
No, seriously. I like their frappucinos. haha.

I never order coffee at Starbucks, only the hot chocolate.
But the real reason I go there is to use my T-Mobile account. Actually getting some work done (well and maybe playing some World of Warcraft) is great and beats sitting in a traffic jam on the 101.

I realize the coffee was offered to anyone but isn't offering free coffee to cops the equivalent of me running through a pack of wild dogs with a couple of pork chops in my pocket?...

Coffee good. Is it just me, or does the coffee at the Starbucks shops taste awful, yet the Starbucks that are inside Safeway have fantastic stuff? Amazing! It's the same no matter where I go. Starbucks shop bad, Safeway Starbucks good (and you get every 8th one free!)
My Starbucks addiction, actually, is the chantico...that little hot chocolate that'll knock your shoes off!
7-11 has excellent coffee. The stuff I absoluty will NOT drink is Peet's. Coffee today is typically over-roasted, but Peet's is like drinking a cup of embers.
And the MOST important applicant question...how's the coffee at the academy?

I love Peet's if I can find a store near me. I think we should support local small business coffee shops unless it's not convenient (I sound like Gray Davis, YUCK).

Its brown, hot, and will keep you awake through just about 17 minutes of Vehicle Code class.
