Have any of my fellow forum members logged into the chat room? I've checked it out about a dozen times over the last couple of days but everytime I do I find nobody home.

I've checked it out a few times... but no one else is in there. Of course... I can probably figure out the conversation that would occur:

Ofcer A: Hi
Ofcer B: How ya doing?
Ofcer A: Fine, where do you work?
Ofcer B: I work in Hayward, how about you?
Ofcer A: South Los Angeles.
Ofcer B: Cool. I broke in there.
Long Pause
Ofcer A: Okay, just thought I'd check out the chat room.
Ofcer B: Okay, see ya around. Be safe.

I was just there. Alone again, naturally.

Sounds like we need to set up a designated chat night or something.

Maybe we need to do something about the sponsors too :D

Hey, it's free! Looks like it is using contextual-based advertising. Someone been talking about tickets? ;)

I actually logged out and logged in 2 different times just to see what was shown. It was that, then two ads for "Self-Sotrage".

And for being free, its works great!

Hey dw is it possible to show the number of people in the chat room on the main menu when we first sign on?

Hey dw is it possible to show the number of people in the chat room on the main menu when we first sign on?

Nope... I'm not that advanced. And it actually looks like I'm going to pull the chat for the time. If someone has the resources to better implement this -- something with passwords, let me know. It looks like an unverified, unmoderated chat is a little too much freedom for a couple people.

I'm sorry that's happening because one of the things I enjoy most about this forum is the fact that we all respect each other.... but hey,do what ya gotta do to keep it that way.

That is unfortunate. There is another neat chat client that works pretty darn well, although I believe there is a small fee (I'd be willing to contribute). I have used it on another forum I visit and I enjoy it.

I believe the link to the client is http://www.tufat.com/script2.htm

I do not know though if there is a possibility to link it to this forum, however. If I can help somehow (not terribly techy when it comes to web design), let me know.

EDIT: This chat client allows the use of your forum name only, which prevents people from impersonating someone else. I just don't know if SoliSys is supported. I'll look into it.

I just received a response, and there is no integration between this forum and the FlashChat client yet.

I agree dw. Once again, a few kids ruin it for the rest of us. This is reminiscent of the edit button removal.

You do have the edit button back, at least for 24-hours, right?

If not, I did something wrong. You _should_ have it.

That's affirm dw. Gracias. I was just thinking back to when we didn't have it.
