Hello!
My boyfriend is doing really well. He has his days but that's like everyone there. There's better days then others but they seem to be doing pretty well so far. I am so proud of all of them. It's something I could never do so for them to take it all and do everything they do, they are my hero's. I am just SOOO happy for all of them. CONGRATS to all and lets keep it going strong!

Glad to see you are all still here, meaning your cadets are all still there! Keep up the good work you are all doing in supporting them!

My cadet came home perfectly fine last Friday evening but then by Saturday he was really sore from swimming. Otherwise, he's doing really well. He gets a bit homesick on Sundays and going back is still the hardest part but as soon as he pulls up in the academy parking lot, he's good to go again. I think it's the saying goodbye part every Sunday that's the killer. Next week, instead of saying "good-bye, ill miss you, etc.", I think we are going to have to be more blunt and say "peace out, see ya next week" haha. Changes the tone of things...

I think that's a GREAT idea. I think I am going to try that too!

Hi Everyone!
My Cadet is doing well. I give him all the support that he needs and send him on his way back with a positive attitude every sunday night but at times it gets really hard. I don't try to show my sadness but I know he can see it because he feels the same way too. In the end this is what he wants to do and I fully support him. It is a two way street though and the spouses/significant others need to give their love and support to us as well. Its not always easy taking are of things while they are away. Just wanted you all to know that you are doing great and to keep up the good work! We need some recognition too you know!!

My cadet is doing well too! I am super proud of him. Sundays are the hardest...he gets a little stressed, knowing what he has to face, but that is part of the job. I agree with nrdsrule...it is a bit challenging on our end of things too. I'm was so dependent on my hubby that I'm learning how to take care of certain things myself now. In the long run, it's stuff I should have known...I was just so spoiled before. LOL  Let's stay positive. Our cadets need it, and we do too! I'm so glad we have this forum to chat and encourage one another.

Glad to see that you ladies are hanging in there and so supportive. I was the same way (bold type above), for the most part. Looking back, I feel like I was in training too...training to be an officer's wife because he's home a lot less often and some days we won't even see each other, so it never really ends.

I agree with OfficerWife. I had to make a lot of changes to my life and my personality along the way. They should have a graduation for all us new officer wives!

It is really nice to see all of you still going strong, see as I said before my case is a bit difference because my hubby is the one who's going to be home and I am (if all goes well) the one going to Academy. There are a lot of things that he doesn't have to worry about when I'm home, once I'm gone he is going to learn...the major things is the care of our dogs (I am a proud momma of 3 little creatures), they need a lot of care and walks, etc and my husband usually only deals with the fun part of play time...no feeding, brushing, meds, etc, etc....you know....anyway...glad you are all here. Keep strong and yep I do think y'all deserve a graduation too or at least a nice night out in a cozy hotel with hot tubs and all.......

It seems like just yesterday that I was counting down my dreaded Sunday goodbyes but really it's been 8 weeks since the last one. (Ya, CTC-I-08 ladies - can you believe that?)
I believe that every one of us has different experiences along the way and we all handle the difficult situations in our own way. No particular way is right or wrong. It's really just about what fits your wants and needs. As stated above, I counted down my Sundays. I didn't cross day by day off on my calendar because it made my days a bit harder. I waited until Monday when I got back at work to cross the past week off and boy was that relieving. On Sunday nights we didn't do the whole sappy thing. It was a simple "I love you. The next time I see you there will only be ____ weeks to go". I did my best to not cry around him because I knew it would just add more stress on him so I slapped on my happy face every Sunday night.
Find your inspiration. I have to say that networking with other wives helped me tremendously. If it wasn't for them I would have been complaining to him. Hearing a rant from one of the wives (I know who you are but I don't want to call you out.) having to get on her roof and shovel off the snow by herself was one of the most motivating stories. She is a savage and should get the Wife/Mommy of the Year Award.
The academy is definitely training for us also. Supporting a badge is a big job to do and after the academy you will be ready to do it!
Okay thats my novel for now!

My cadet is doing well. He really enjoys PMA (soon we get to practice handcuffing...this ought to be interesting!) and he said he likes the 3 mile runs with cadence?
After the first Sunday funk (once we got back to the Academy he was all pumped up again and that has been the case every week), I changed my tune to GET OUT!!! for the Sunday farewell... Accompanied with a smirk. He laughed so hard the first time, milk came out of his nose....Now when he even thinks about getting in a funky I am going to miss you mood...(ok really Sunday comes way to fast) I look at him at about 8 and say well, that's it, I am done with you now, time to go back....He pretends to be offended and the mood gets lighter. My son loves it because he gets to stay up just a little bit later on Sundays....Whatever it takes to get through...
It never ceases to amaze me how strong we women are and sometimes have to be....Keep it up ladies, we can do it all, just so long as they keep for the pedicures, massages, ICE CREAM coming, RIGHT?

Cadences are what they (sing) repeat back to their squad captian as they run- like- "I like it, I love it, I want some more of it!" My husband comes home singing these every weekend and has gotten the kids into it too, including my 5 year old son doing knuckle push-ups with his own pvc batton .

DBEB03 - It is so cute to imagine the little ones mimicking their dad with cadence, knuckle push ups and PVC batons. Thanks for the smile! It's stories like yours that help make this experience worth while.

We got the DVD of the floor workout and in the beginning is a stream of the cadets running with the PT PT ALL THE WAY cadence. My 8 year old memorized that and yells it as he runs on the soccer field! He is working on a new one with his teammates with their team name in it! I told my cadet we need a new cadence in our house....they are working on a family sound off before dinner...Now if only he made the beds like they do at the academy...it would be great if the cadets could bring their kids in for the weekend of graduation and have the kids be the cadets and our cadets be their SO! How cute would that be? A whole new take your kid to work day experience!
They have a lot of nice shots, hopefully you will see your cadet!

Interesting... I just compared CTC-II remaining cadets at week 6 to CTC-III at 6 weeks and they are equal at losing 31 cadets. Sorry IHeartmyCadet, but I don't think your class is going to graduate at 200. CTC-II I believe is now in the mid 150's since they lost a few more to highspeed this week and are begining senarios. Life at the Academy doesn't seem to get easier the longer they are there... much, much harder.

You have to look at the percentage lost. This class was VERY big so they will lose a lot, with many more to come.

That's ok. I just thought it would be cool to shoot for a high goal like that. No biggie. Congrats to everyone who has made it and I'm sorry to those cadets that had something come up that couldn't stay in. Im sorry to hear that but there is always another chance. Good luck to all!
