I think it's somewhere between 230-233. I think. I know the first day there was a no show (239), someone left in the middle of the night (238), two quit the next day (236), then some left over the weekend (about 3-4) and who knows who left yesterday and monday. My best quess is like I said about 230-233.

Well, the days are getting easier. As I'm developing a routine I'm noticing that I'm not missing him as much. I've been staying really busy with work and spending a lot of time at the gym so by the time I get home, I just want to go to sleep. I am however, counting the hours until I get to see my cadet!!!

I agree, it is much easier this week. I've been working out a lot too! I know he's going to lose weight....I don't want him coming back weighing less than I do! LOL  Well ladies, we are half way through the week. Yay!!!! Only a couple of more days until we hopefully see our cadets!

YEAH! What is it with all the working out? J/K I have been working my buns off now that he's gone. I think it's a mind thing for us women. We think we have to look fabulous when they get home and when this is all over. I know that I am working out for that reason :biggrin:. I don't look bad now but I know there are a few things I could fix and why not while he's busy working too? I just want to do it for me (and him as well) but more for me. I want to feel close to 100% about myself.

Keep it up ladies, we can do it!

I know what you mean! My fiance was only 160 when he went in...he'll be at my wieght in no time. We'll see when he gets home in a few weeks. I took a couple of before shots before he started CTC III.

As long as my cadet stays in the running and isn't a part of that number, I'm good. I'm sure the rest of you feel the same way too. Yay!!!! Happy Friday!

Yep. I told my Cadet that if he gave up, he would have no place to come home to. I know how bad he wants to became a CHP Officer so I told him that giving up is no option.

I agree with all of you. I mean I feel bad for those families that have their S.O. coming back home because they gave up, quit, were sick or anything else that could have happened. I know that my cadet wants this more than he's ever wanted anything else in his life but when he gets down, he needs to remember that. I told him a lot before he went in that "no matter what, whenever you feel like you want to leave or you can't take it anymore, just think about the future you will be making for your children (be it with me (I hope) or someone else). This is what will give them a great life and can give them great opportunities in the future. Just keep your head in the game and you'll be alright." "It's only six months versus the rest of your life." It's totally worth it and as long as they stay in and concentrate, they will do just fine. I have lots of faith in our men, they're going to be great! Just tell them that! "YOU'RE GOING TO BE SO GREAT ONE DAY!"

I know they are already great but I mean GREAT at the job.

Just a reminder that not everyone who left has quit. There may have been injuries or illnesses also that have cost a few in this group. And the ones who left are not quitters, this job just was not for them. It is better they leave now than further down the road. There is a reason for everyone who has departed.

Your right, I didn't mean to forget those cadets or their families. That sucks too. I changed what I said because I meant what you said. I am sorry if I hurt anyone's feelings, that was NOT my intention. I apologize!

Heart, I can completely understand. And it's hard to realize some make it through the entire application process, only to realize a week into the academy "I think I made a mistake." Which makes me sort of unpopular here, because I feel the more prepared they are (ie ride alongs, knowing it isn't Camp Snoopy, etc) the more likely we will get cadets who ARE are able to complete the job.

I told my son the same thing. He was struggling at week 12 or 13, and I basically just told him "Study it NOW, because you have 13 weeks down, and you DON"T want to have to repeat these past 13 weeks just because you had an issue with xyz."

We need more mothers like you. You are a really good support system. I bet he really appreciated that. Did he graduate recently? CONGRATS if he did! I feel for those cadets that say it's not for them. It's hard to go through something for a year+ and then realize that it's just not what they want in life. I've done the same thing and it sucks but you move on and things get better eventually.

It varies week to week. There is a Cadet assigned to mail duty, and it depends on how busy they are that day as to whether or not the Cadet has time to take care of the mail duty. I mail my husband a letter everyday, and he normally gets 2-3 at a time. By the sounds of it, they at least do it 2-3 times a week, but generally not everyday.
