To any veteran or frequent flyers of the friendly sky
I have a few questions as far as flying with the uniforms after we pick them up at he dry cleaners. How should they be packed in a suitcase, garment bag? God knows we don't want them getting lost at the airport!!!! Also any suggestions as the packing of the boots. I have been able to locate a dry cleaners, shoe repair to take these for my brother when he flys home on the weekend:biggrin:
Thanks

I'd use a garment bag for uniforms, just realize he is still gonna have to press them when he gets back. When you pack his boots, make sure you stuff plenty of newpaper in the toes. That way to toes won't crust in and he wastes a pair of boots. Where to y'all live?

Thank you for the 411 now I need to go and buy a garment bag! We live in Ventura County. Which driving it takes 7 hours vs flying 1hr10min but the cost is almost $200.00 round trip when you weigh the pros and cons flying is best!

My husband was in the last class and he flew home almost every weekend, except for the couple of times I flew up. We found this to be the best way to transport the uniforms...yes, it was a little pricey, but we had a Men's Warehouse coupon :

I think a regular garment bag will work just fine too, but you will have to touch them up when you get back to your room.

My husband flys to Sacto a few times a month. No uniform but he takes suites. We have a suitcase with a garmet bag in it or he takes a garmet bag.
DON'T CHECK IT!!!
Make sure you sign up for Southwest Rewards. All 4 of us are flying to Florida next month for free!!!

Oh yeah!!!!! Forgot to add that!!!
boots dont take long to do so leave them at the academy. it'll save weight and space. my 10 minute job would last me all week.

I always carried on and I packed my uniforms or top of everything else. I waited until I pulled into the airport to put them in my bag and took them out just after I got off the plane to limit the time they were folded. They typicaly didn't crease after being in there for an hour or so.
