I just recieved a letter from the SPD saying I'm DQ'd for a year due to possible excessive alcohol use. To make a long story short...during my psych oral the doc asked me several questions related to alcohol. I know I don't have an alcohol problem (I haven't drank more than 10 times in the last year!)...how do I go about appealing this????
It says on the letter that I have one year until repplication...from what I understand this means one year until my next psych eval crosses the SPD desk, correct???
Any help or advice would be highly appreciated!!
ow do I go about appealing this????The information you received should have explained exactly that. If not, you'll want to contact the State Personnel Board in writing.
Your other option is to wait a year and reapply. As is often the case with psychological appeals, the easiest and most pain-free solution (for you) may be to simply reapply after a year. If you search for psychological and/or appeal you will find a few threads on the topic.
Also, for future reference, please adhere to the site rules and directions before posting which require you to search and exhaust other means before posting a new (old) question.
I am going to make it!

I was DQ'd (different issue) In my humble opinion, Don't appeal. The SPB makes it way too painful. I appealed and retested side by side. My DQ letter was in Feb. 2007 my appeal hearing did not even occur until Dec. 2007. At this current time I am still atleast 2 - 4 months away from knowing results.
On the other hand I retested in Feb. 2007 and amjsut waiting on an psych evaluation.
Your call just research first.
Good luck.
possible excessive alcohol use ... haven't drank more than 10 times in the last year!Well OK, I'll bite. Is it appropriate to discuss what kind of alcohol consumption is excessive? I have consumed more than 10 drinks in the past 12 months. Is there something more to Buglet's case, or do I need to reevaluate my dietary habits?
Well OK, I'll bite. Is it appropriate to discuss what kind of alcohol consumption is excessive??Nope...
