View Full Version : Microsoft attempts to package the iPod
Pretty funny video at the bottom of the article...

That video is pretty funny....unfortunately, it rings all too true.
On a related note, I have to say that my iPod is hands-down one of the best gadget purchases I've made in a while. I did a lot of research before I bought, and Apple has the best product going as far as MP3 players go. I really wanted to avoid the iPod just because it's so trendy, but no other manufacturer has near the support or accessories/integration for their players. If you buy an iRiver, Creative, etc., you'll be lucky if you can find so much as a protective case for it, while there's an amazing aftermarket for the iPod. I'm a gadget freak, so in the end it became a pretty easy choice. The user interface is much nicer on the iPod also - the wheel is a lot easier to use than the other systems.

As a techie/gadget freak I actually held off on the iPod until one day I happened to have a few hundred bucks in my pocket and was in a best buy, I bought a 20gb iPod
31 days later they released the video iPod...I was angry. In case you didn't know Apples policy is if they release a new product within 30 days of purchasing the product it replaced you can get a refund.
About a month and a half ago someone broke into my car (there was nothing of any value visible from outside) searched through all my stuff and found my iPod and iPod dock in my glove box...
About $500 worth of stuff stolen...and my deductable is $500
I'll admit it... We have four iPods in the house right now.

we have three. with three belkin transmitter-charger things and an ihome. i'm jonesing for a bose tunedock (or whatever bose calls 'em), but the big, bad boss man is being mean.
We've got one iPod (30GB 5G) and two old iRiver mini players (128 and 256 MB). I haven't bought the home dock for the iPod yet, still connecting to my computer via cable....but the dock is coming soon! That Bose tunedock (or whatever) is 'da bomb' - I'm gonna get one, or something similar to it. I'd also love to get a deck for my truck that lets the iPod plug in - my current one doesn't do it, and the FM transmitter doesn't work well in urban areas. Radio just isn't the same anymore once you've got your iPod loaded up, and CDs just seem so limiting now!
I'm a total sucker for electronics. GPS is one of my other favorite toys. I currently have a Garmin 60CS, and am really fighting the urge to upgrade to a 60CSx with the expandable/removable memory and SiRF-III chipset. I'm not good at fighting such urges, so I'm sure I'll give in pretty soon.

NO WAY! My husband bought his and then a WEEK later is when the new one came out....
He would be so mad to know that he could have returned it...especially since his roommate did get the new one.
