I will be having my first initial meeting with my BI this Wednesday (3/1/06) and wanted to know what to expect. What will be appropriate attire for this meeting and what questions will my BI ask. The meeting is at my residence.

Wear a suit. Don't forget that in the end, this is a job interview. Better to error on the side of caution, rather than look like you aren't taking it seriously. I wore a suit, and my BI told me it was nice to see that, since some people assumed a meeting at home was a casual interview. It defintely isn't.
[EDIT by Admin, details of interview removed] Keep in mind, this is in a nutshell... this whole process can be 4-6 hours.
be sure you have everything you need from the list of documents they gave you with your PHS. You should also be sure to review your copy of the PHS prior to the meeting to be sure you have dates/details fresh in your head. Best of luck!!!!!

Mine was exactlly like what Processing just described. THe only difference I experienced is that my BI told me to be casually dressed (slacks and a colored shirt). I think every BI is different in what they want, but if you BI didnt tell you anything about attire, I would wear a suit to be safe.
To help with my first interview, before the meeting I went through my entire PHS and wrote down any changes I needed to make. I type them onto a piece of paper and used that during my interview to correct my PHS. This allows you to take your time when looking over the pHS and allows you not ot make any mistake.
Also, be calm, and try not to be to nervous. My BI was a really nice guy and encouraged me to ask him questions about anything. Good luck and lets us know how you did.

Best of luck to you. How long did it take for you to get your appointment for your initial interview from the time you first turned in your PHS?

I turned in my packet in September, was contacted by my B.I in November telling me to be patient and given my initial interview and CVSA last week. Everyone's timeframe is always different, you can move qiuckly through some parts and then all of a sudden hit the brakes and wait to get things rolling again. I tested out of Border Div. and feel lucky to be this far because there are other people in here that tested with me that are still waiting to be contacted by their B.I and some others that got my same QAP score and didn't receive a hire letter. Good luck with your process.

Sanch, just remember that you are in the testing process to work for the best agency in the world. It is important therefore to always look your best. Unless your BI suggested more casual attire, I agree with the suggestion that you wear a suit.
Make sure that you have all of the documents handy that were listed in the info you took home from the PAT. Have originals for your BI to review and a copy for him/her to take.
Above all...........BE HONEST!!
Good luck. Let us know how it went.

When I went to the Applicant's home for the initial, it was casual. Once I finished business with the Applicant I would invite the Spouse, Partner, Parents, and anyone else present if they had any questions, etc. Whenever I asked an Applicant to come to my office for the final interview or anything else, it was business attire. I'm sure that every BI has their own opinion, so when you get the call about your initial interview, ask how they want you to dress.
Good Luck!
