Im from Michigan so im used to cold. but how cold does it really get in SAC? Does it snow?

also, they said on the news today that the smoke is making air quality very poor in Sacramento.

It gets pretty hot and cold in Sac. But you being from Michigan and all, it should be a breeze for you. No, it doesn't snow in Sac but the weather does dip into the freezing zone.

I wouldn't worry too much about the bad air quality. I'm running 2 ~ 3 miles every afternoon and it doesn't really affect me but then again, I don't have respiratory issues.

And then the rains... oh the joy... The best part will be trying to drive back to LA in December, and we (the CHP) decided to close the grape vine due to snow and because too many people are driving and wrecking....

I always enjoyed the Sacramento Area summers when the temperature exceeds 100 for two or three weeks at a time and it cools down to 85 at night. Sure makes for a great tomato growing season as long as the young fruit doesn't burn.

Thankfully, living in Bakersfield all my life might make getting used to Sacramento weather less painful. About a week ago, the weather channel was talking about the weather in northern California. The weather man said that the Sacramento area was experiencing extreme heats in the upper 90's. Meanwhile, down in Bako-town we were in the middle of a 107'ish degree day. So if the 90's and the occasional 100 degree day is the height of the summer, it'll feel like a vacation.

...as far as weather goes of course.

in the 22 years ive lived in Sac i can remember it snowing twice and it wasnt real snow.

the coldest i can remember it getting is the high 20's on a winter night at about 1-2am. i vividly remember this because i was having to negotiate ice patches on the sidewalk while going for a late night run. that wasnt the smartest thing ive ever done. :tape:

Don't forget the 96% humidity during those wonderful times. Makes it all the more lovely.
