Mardi Gras 2006

I just got in from my third shift this weekend working Mardi Gras in San Luis Obispo. In a word, I'm exhausted. It was pretty slow this year, as was last year. It was quite impressive seeing such a showing from the police department, the Sheriff's Office, other allied agencies and of course, the CHP. You could feel the energy walking around the command and field operations centers.

It was amazing just being able to be a in the middle of it all, doing our part and working towards a much larger goal. I have to say I was quite impressed by the showing the CHP made, especially the continuous line of motor officers.

Though I'm thoroughly worn out, it was a priceless experience for me. This whole weekend did nothing but reinforce and reaffirm my desire to work in this field.

i was there too welpe and just got back yesterday. im also very tired, it was a long weekend on foot patrol. looks like our presence worked. nothing happened.

Hey Graver, thanks to you and the rest of your CHP comrades for coming into town. Which part of the city did they end up sticking you in?

I was on foot patrol on hathway at california. what dept do you work for?

Hathway and California, I love that area especially on the weekends. :rolleyes:

I'm part of the SLOPD student program, we deal with noise violations, parking, abandoned vehicles and anything else they need assistance with.
