Lots of people are new to areas they live in. I thought it would be nice to share some local events they may not know about. Especially family events they can do without their officer who is probably working.

Moorpark does their fireworks on July 3rd.

Simi Valley - The Reagan Library has a great event during the day. They have different booths set up around the quad area outside the library with crafts and games for the kids. Last year my son's Boy Scout troop worked one of the booths and it was really fun. here is the info from the web site

Friday, July 4, 2008,10:00 AM- 3:00 PM
Annual 4th of July Activities:

• This 4th of July, come celebrate our Nation's 232nd birthday with music, family entertainment, presidential look a-likes, face painting, storytelling and children's games. Enjoy all-American food while listening to a rousing patriotic concert by the Los Angeles Police Department Concert Band. All 4th of July activities are free, however, regular admission rates apply for those visitors who also visit the Museum exhibits. Please call 800-410-8354 for more information

Watch the Ventura County Star or their web site as it gets closer. They usually do a full list of events in the area.

We are Stanford fans at our house, but we are so proud of Fresno State! It was an extreme joy to see them win the national in Omaha. Hubby got to attend a game there a few years ago when Stanford was playing. In a couple of weeks we will be visiting that wonderful zoo (buildings in the background of the ball park).

Soooo, may all of you have a very safe and fun Fourth of July! We will be out in the middle of Nevada that night enjoying their festivities --too far away to help out the CHP with traffic control, etc.
