I was just wondering if anyone, that is in the same testing cycle as I am, has been contacted by a BI to schedule your initial interview?

My husband hasn't been assigned a BI either. He is in the Southern Division testing and did his QAP on 5/23. However we did receive the conditional offer almost 2 weeks ago.

The mandatory background orientation is on July 9th. We will be contacted after that.

I didn't know the background orientation is mandatory; I'm planning on going anyways.

Orientations are not mandatory,,,, strongly recommended but not mandatory.

When were you notified of the mandatory (highly recommended) background orientation? We haven't received any notification of this.

They called me last wednesday to let me know about it.

Maybe it is different within other divisions, but I was told in person that it is mandatory, and I was also telephoned where the background officer emphasized that the orientation was mandatory. I am just reporting what I am experiencing. Pardon me for any confusion.

Thanks for the information. We haven't received a call yet, but it could be because we live in the coastal division. Coastal division, but southern applicant. From what I hear, from other CHP officers not on this board (and correct me if I am wrong), his background paperwork should be transferred to the coastal division due to 75% of his background is here. Oh well, he was instructed at his QAP not to call. Only time will tell.

A BI called me today letting me know he'll be my BI, and that he'll see me at the orientation.

I'm about a month late on this thread but...BI orientation? My BI called me to set up my initial right off the bat. Not one word of an orientation. Maybe he's in a hurry to DQ me :sad:.

I'll have to wait and see, I'm supposed to meet with him this week.
