Polygraph Mess

This is my first post on this forum, but I have read all the rules, etc. So, here is a short history and a question. Six years ago I applied for the CHP, and made it through to the final background (passed the CVSA with no problem). I was told I would not be continuing on because I had 2 speeding tickets in the previous year. I cleaned up my driving record and I'm trying again. I have applied to the CHP and several other local PDs. I have just started backgrounds for the CHP. I last week I took a polygraph test for one of the locals and failed. I was completely honest and admitted to mj use 18 years ago (same questions and answers as CVSA), but I "spiked" twice on one of the other drugs during the same time period. When contacted by my BI, she said I was DQ'd because of the failed test. Will this hurt my CHP chances? Should I mark down that I used this other drug as a teenager just in case my conscience remembers something my brain does not? I am 35 and this is my last chance to reach my CHP dream.

Should I mark down that I used this other drug as a teenager just in case my conscience remembers something my brain does not?You disclose whatever your actual drug use was. No one can tell your outcome with the CHP, but we can reiterate that you need to be completely honest. If your "conscience" is more accurate than what you "remember," well.... Just be completely honest and explain your situation. Disqualification from another agency is not, in and of itself, going to result in your disqualification from our Department.
