Well, regretfully I failed my QAP...they told me due to some past experiences and my age that I should come back in a year. They said I did a great job in the interview, and that I should have no problem making it through in a year, but I failed. So wish me luck, I'll be back in a year. Good luck to everyone on here and I wish you all the best. I'll still be here on the Forum, but most likely not as frequently. Thanks to everyone that's helped me along the way. As they say..

"It doesn't matter how you start, but how you finish"

They'll be keeping a close eye on the next year, so here's the chance to prove yourself.

That's too bad man. Happened to me too, but in a year when you come back, you're going to have a year of PT before academy.

Exactly. It is extremely disappointing to be disqualified, but take this as an incentive to show them you deserve the job. I was disqualified in 2006 for the same thing (worst feeling ever), so I decided to go back to school and get a bachelors degree in criminology. It turned out to be the best thing that had happened to me. Turn this negative into a positive. Good Luck

Sorry to hear that Roadwolf. I had my QAP on Monday at 1pm. I was there about 1 and a half hours early, they really liked that. Oh yeah anyone testing in Border division, Officer Lassig is a great guy if you need have any additional Q's.

Thanks for all the support you guys, it really means a lot. Like you said trifecta, I'll be getting my AA within this next year, and I've recently changed my major to Criminal Justice. I think that will really show my committment to the field and help me get through the process. One things for sure, I'll definitly be in a lot better shape.

I got my B.S. in Econ. As much as I'd love to work in law enforcement, you need a back up plan - i.e. majoring in something that you can actually work with, like accounting. If you're truly interested in criminal justice, then I'd say go for it, but if you're mainly doing it to obtain an LE position - then you're heading in the wrong direction. Just a friendly opinion.

Ya I totally hear ya, I've been flipping my majors between marketing and Crim Justice, i would love a career in either one. But I plan on re-applying in a year like i said, and i plan on ultimately being a CHP for life. If for some reason I don't make it in the CHP, then haveing a career in LE period is what I want to do. Thanks for the advice though, I appreciate it!
