Academy dates

How many academy classes are there a year? Is there somewhere to view those dates?

There are generally four classes each year. They're not published anywhere.

Academy dates are based on a multiple of variables. Some years we have as many as five classes whereas we have had as few as one class per year. Again we've had hiring freezes last almost five years. Officer retirements play a huge part. As with so much on this Department, it's all about numbers. We always have a set number of positions maintained but executive management plays with those numbers to satisfy their own agendas. Unfortunately it doesn't translate well into the field where we need it. Just test out and wait for your opportunity. And when you're offered a class, don't waive it. Just go for it!
