SWAT?

What is the CHP SWAT team like? Do they respond to alot of incidents, and is that on the highways or do they respond in the city too. Anyone?

We only have one SWAT team and it's completely part time. They are all assigned to the Capital and work regular shifts until called to an incident. They act as the primary arrest squad during civil disturbances at the Capital. They're all great guys. They spend more time training, unfortunately, than responding to incidents. It's a far cry from LAPD's SWAT program. And because it's so small it's very tough to get assigned there. You looking at 20 guys out of 6,000. Tough odds. But mostly they work the road or the Capital. By the way, you find more "incidents" on the road.

That's too bad, I figured there were more opportunities. Guess the locals and sherrifs get all the action. I'm still for CHP baby!

Believe me, there's so much more out there on this Department. You can arrest so many more felons working a highway beat in six months than our SWAT team will arrest in five years. Remember one thing; every dirt bag, no matter what he or she does, gets in a car and travels on the highway. All you have to do is go out and find them. It's so easy it's ridiculous. You can become a Drug Recognition Expert, an Auto Theft Investigator, or specialize in Accident Investigation. Whatever you want. All you have to do is get in a black and white and go find them.

I sanyone on this forum on swat I was aware they have subdued patches? Ohh and dose CHP have badge patches is it possible for me to get one?
