I AM WAITING FOR THE LAST STEP IN THE PROCESS. ALL MY PAPERWORK HAS BEEN SUBMITTED TO THE SPB. ALL I NEED TO DO IS WAIT FOR THE PSYCH DEPT TO CONTACT ME FOR MY INTERVIEW. HAVING ONLY TWO WEEKS TILL THE MARCH ACADEMY STARTS, DO I HAVE A CHANCE TO GET INTO THAT CLASS? IS ANYBODY ELSE OUT THERE IN THE SAME TORMENTING SITUATION? ANY INPUT WOULD HELP. THANKS IN ADVANCE.

I feel your pain.

my psych interview to invite was 17 days. But I read here, from another post back in November, that a guy had an invite to the academy just 2 days after his psych. Mine took a long time - but I was still able to get two weeks notice in. Perhaps they will put things into hyperspeed for you - otherwise, you have an extra two months to prepare!

Did you get an academy SOP from your background investigator?

YEAH, THEY GAVE ME THE SOP ALREADY. I'VE BEEN STUDYING IT. I'M REALLY FRUSTRATED, BUT I'M KEEPING THE FAITH. SEE I WENT AGAINST THE ADVISEMENT OF MY BI AND GAVE MY TWO WEEKS NOTICE, TWO WEEKS AGO. I AM NOW UNEMPLOYED. HOPEFULLY IT WILL ONLY BE FOR TWO WEEKS. THE PERFECT SCENERIO FOR ME WOULD BE IF THE PSYCH DEPT GIVES ME A CALL MONDAY, SETS UP MY INTERVIEW FOR TUESDAY AND I AM APPROVED BY WED. I REALLY HIGHLY DOUBT IT WILL WORK THAT FAST THOUGH. UNTIL THEN :confused::

IT WENT WELL. THANKS FOR ASKING. THE PSYCH WAS PRETTY RELAXED ACTUALLY. HOPEFULLY THEY SEND THE RESULTS SOON. IM CROSSING MY FINGERS.

I was in that same situation, but now I am not so sure that this academy will still work out. I am really mad at the personell board right now. When I did my PAT, one eye did not pass (it's 20/40) and they waived it until I could have my medical exam. Well, I had that about 2 weeks ago and I passed the eye test fine. Now I get a letter saying that they cannot proceed till they get notice from an optomitrist saying that my eyes are corrected to 20/20. Even though I might be able to send them a copy of my eye exam I had last year, I don't know they will have enough time to get that taken care of and scheduel the phych and get results in one week. The whole system is so unprofessional. Why could they not have told me at the medical they their eye exam was not sufficient to be considered legit? They had to wait till the week before to send a letter saying they need more info. That is so wrong. I just hope this does not set me back 3 months just for this dumb technicallity. All I can do is wait and see.

Welcome to centralized state employment. Everything must go through Sacramento. The waiting isn't always fun, but in the end it is worth it.
